Snacks and birthday parties go together like peanut butter and jelly.
But finding the right combination of snacks to accompany the main attraction is not an easy feat.
It’s for this reason we’ve compiled this list of snacks for your kid’s next birthday party. We’ve highlighted some of the most fun treats you can get on a modest budget.

Oreo Fluff Snack

Not this is one that will have every kid coming back for seconds!
- 1 package if the Oreo cookies
- ½ cup of milk
- 1 (3 ounce) package of vanilla pudding
- 16 ounces of cool whip
- Crush Oreo cookies inside a ziplock bag (or similar bad).
- Combine milk and vanilla pudding mix in a large bowl until thoroughly mixed.
- Add crushed Oreo cookies plus cool whip into the pudding and slowly mix them till they are properly blended.
- Chill this mixture inside a refrigerator for a few hours before it is served.
- Optionally, you can also decorate the top with crushed Oreos.

Another perfect snack idea for your kid’s birthday is the cowboy cupcake.
They’re a fun snack because each part can be virtually made out of anything. The cowboy hat, for example, can be made from a potato chip (with a gumdrop on top), caramel, or anything else you can think of.
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 stick unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2/3 cup whole milk, at room temperature
1. Preheat oven to 180°C and line the Le Creuset 12-Cup Muffin Tray with paper cases.
2. Cream the butter and castor sugar until pale and fluffy.
3. Gradually beat in the eggs until well combined.
4. Sift in the flour and fold to combine.
5. Pour mixture into the cases until three-quarters full.
6. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden and cooked through. Allow to cool on a wire rack.

Snake sandwiches are a great treat for kids because they are a fun experience to see and eat. As a matter of fact, any bite-sized party snack that is made to look like animal, person, or something else your birthday guests recognize will make your next party a hit.
Here is one example of a snake sandwich you can make.
- 2 green olives that are stuffed with pimentos.
- ½ a cup and 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
- Cornmeal (used for dusting).
- 2 jars of roasted yellow and red peppers placed in oil.
- 3 loaves of bread dough that are thawed.
- 3 ounces of arugula.
- 3 pounds of fresh and sliced mozzarella.
- A quarter cup of cappers that are coarsely chopped.
- A quarter red pepper that will used as the tongue.
- 1 pound of sliced prosciutto.
- 2 cups of pitted green and black olives that are coarsely chopped.
- 3 celery ribs and a half teaspoon of pepper flakes.
- Preheat the oven up to 350 degrees F.
- Cover a baking pan using a parchment and lightly dust it using the cornmeal.
- On the floured surface, mix dough and create a long and curvy shape of a snake then place it on the pan.
- Push 2 olives in the head so as they can act as the eyes.
- Cut the scales in V shapes down back and brush the dough using some oil. Cover it using a plastic wrap and allow it to rise for about an hour till it doubles in size.
- Bake the dough for about 30-40 minutes until its crust turns golden then cool it inside a pan on the rack.
- Remove the roasted peppers that were placed in jars and put them aside.
- Add the olive oil into the oil from the pepper so as to produce one cup.
- Combine olives, oil, flakes from red pepper, capers and celery in a bowl.
- Horizontally slice the loaf of bread, place the bottom half of the loaf on top of a tray and lay out the leaves of arugula on top of it.
- Add mozzarella, prosciutto and the roasted peppers on top of the arugula leaves.
- Then pour one spoon of the olive oil on to so as to replace and relish the top.
- Cut a tongue shaped fork from the red pepper then place it at the head and your snake sandwich is now ready.

Most kids love potato wedges. Why? Quite simply, they’re a cross between potato chips and french fries. You can and anything to the to make them just a bit healthier than the oilier versions (For example, sea salt, rosemary, etc).
- 4 large potatoes
- One and a half tablespoons of salt
- Four tablespoons of vegetable oil or olive oil
- ¾ teaspoon of ground black pepper
- One teaspoon of your own choice of spices or herbs, such as cumin, rosemary or minced garlic.
- Preheat the oven up to 450F.
- Scrub potatoes using cold water and vegetable brush. Cut them into various pieces so that one potato can produce at least six wedges.
- Place the olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, prepared potatoes and the parmesan cheese in a plastic bag and seal it.
- Shake the bag so as to coat and season the potatoes.
- Once seasoned, spread potatoes over the baking sheet that is lined with a parchment or foil.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until crisp and golden on their outside and very tender from the inside. This is when they can easily be pierced using a fork to determine if they are ready.
- Season potato wedges with extra salt or even a garnish such as parsley or chopped chives.
- Serve with some hot sauce, malt vinegar, ketchup, lime & chipotle mayo or another favorite dipping sauces.
The best snack ideas for your kids next birthday party are those that are fun and even a little bit interactive. You know it’s a great party when you’ve made your guests want to play with their food.
Our advice is to think outside of the box. Think of how you can keep your guests engaged at each and every turn.
